Morris/Austin Day - THIS SUNDAY!

Post by custommartin »

Just for fun :)

Who's going to Brooklands this weekend.

I can't decide.................Brooklands or in the garage, Brooklands or in the garage, Brooklands or in the garage.....................

:D
1971 3.9 litre V8 Pick-Up - At least most of the bodywork is original!
Hibernating - Shhhhhhhhhhhhh!

1966 V8 powered roadster - Now out of hibernation - not long til it's done.................

Has to be a 'maybe' - unless there's a miracle and either I magically get the black PU finished, unSorned, MOTed ... or Paypal magically clear the payment and I have the blue one. Or the yellow one brilliantly restores itself. :) Oh, or the one in the garage reconstructs itself, finds virtually all of a new body, rebuilds its engine etc. Probably all a bit unlikely...

We'll be going with our local Minor club, but as Naomi's in a number of pieces at the bodyshop at the moment and the Maestro's in for some serious waxoyling, we'll be in the Cortina.

It would be nice to meet the people on here, so if you come and see a black Mk2 Cortina, come and say hello!

Just to spare your blushes, it is here too. I've never heard it as a female name before - I'm sure Lou can explain!

She already has elsewhere. If I remember correctly Bert is named after a character in a book she's writing.

Fair enough - still curious though, as I say, I know Robin and Lyndsey (with different spellings) are unisex, but Bert?

Blimey, turn my back for a minute and it all kicks off

My apologies Onne, Bert is generally (pretty much always) a boy's name, but technically it is also short for Alberta. As Dan says, she is named after one of my characters (well remembered 8) ) and also after my grandad - Albert - so I guess that's still a bit confusing. Don't think I'll be starting a new trend for girls named Bert :o Anyway, off to fetch her back this afternoon :) hooray!
Cheers, everybody, Louise
