Hello. New on here and needing a bit of advice, please! Since 1988 I have been the second owner of a 54 Seriesll which has spent the vast majority of it life dry stored (Bournemouth by first owner and now near Banbury) hence in very sound condition and done about 30k miles. I'm just taking it out of my current dry store with a view to selling it, hopefully to someone who will cherish it and drive it a bit more than I have! Last time out was as a Wedding car for my Daughter....! The question is, how can I get a valuation so that I have a rough idea of a selling price?? Any advice or experience greatly appreciated! Well Stuart, I Suppose the first thing to say is that these cars can't be valued like modern vehicles. Forget about age and mileage. It's all about condition,provenance and the buyers preference.
In effect they are worth what a buyer will pay. Most important thing is to make sure the car is properly 'kosher' and all the history/records hang together. There are a few dodgy cars around and buyers are understandably cautious.
Then get together the history that you have. Old mot's,service records,bills...that sort of thing.
A diligent seller might consider getting an independent engineers report...might cost a few quid...
Some models are more valuable due to rarity or desirability. Then check out what similar cars are advertised for and be prepared to negotiate.

Thanks Steve. That's really helpful. I don't have massive 'history' on the car, but I do have MOTs and service/what's been done by various 'Minor people' over the years! I think I might well get an Independent report as you suggest! Grateful! S

Hi Stewart, as has just been said it depends on the buyer on the day the more info you have about the car the better, the better you can make it look for a few quid isn't a bad idea as well A good wash and scrub does wonders.

Put it on ebay - willing seller and willing buyers - determines the true value precisely on that day. Often depends where the car is located of course - sparse population area will reduce the selling price compared to busy area. And if you don't like the prices coming up on ebay you can always withdraw the car from sale.
