Do i have a problem?
I have a minor convertable ( just converted from a saloon)and i have jacked it up to change the tyres, when it's jacked up the gap between the top of the door and the back quater glass frame changes from 4mm to 8-9 mm and when i let it down it reverts back to 4mm. It has just got new floors & the strengthing pieces have been installed. Is THIS TOLERANCE ACCEPTABLE.?????

In my experience this is normal. I asked another owner who recently restored his convertible and it did the same. You may also notice the gaps changing as you go over bumps too.

You will always get some slight flexing under those conditions but,
you should find that the doors when adjusted to shut nicely when the
car is on the floor, should still shut nicely when the car is jacked up
at the correct jacking point. Start worrying if the doors start
springing open when you drive over rough terrain!!.

I don't know if that is such a good example. Sounds like night owl's car was recently converted. Owens convertible was very rotten.
