I need to replace my rear brake cylinders on a 1966 car.

Are the pattern rears ok, or should i go genuine?

Thanks for any help.

I've never had any problems with the pattern cylinders - they're perfectly OK.

When you replace them use some Red Rubber Grease on assembly.

Pattern is ok on the rears. But i would only use genuine on the front.

Ok thanks. This particular car came with discs at the front, but i did use genuine cylinders on my other morris when i rebuilt its front brakes.

Pattern rears are fine, just be aware than they can be a little difficult to get into place. The last couple I used I found that the casting that allows it to slide in the backing plate was very tight, a small bit off this with a file solved it no problem.
