Carpet fixing points

Can anyone tell me how many carpet fixing points there were on a 1963 2 door saloon.
I'm thinking 4 each side at the back and 4 each side at the front (16 in all).
Can anyone confirm this and does anyone have a location diagram please.
Thank you

Neither of mine had carpet fixing points as such. They just had bits of glue in strategic places.

My 1961 has the 4 old fixing points screwed to the floor for the original carpets which have long gone, I guess you may just have to take a punt as to the best location for them.
You can buy the clips from Woolies,

Unless you can find an original car that has not had new floors it may be your only option.

Remember you need to be able to get at the mastercylinder.......

There only press studs screwed to the floor Roy, you then crimp the "button" to the carpet and it stops it from moving around.

They all had the pull-off carpet fixings originally on the floor carpets. 4 per section should be plenty. The other pieces were lightly glued as required.

I know about the pres studs...but if the carpets are 'glued' down instead......

The only carpets that should be glued down are the sill ones and the valance under the rear seat.

Thank you for all your replies.
All I want to know is how many press studs to use for the floor sections of the carpet and where they should be positioned.
Some traders sell them in packs of 10, however, a lot of carpets sold nowadays have the front seat fixings bolted through the rear carpet mat, which is incorrect, hence, packs of 10 carpet studs could also be wrong.
I realise that the sill bits and the bit below the back seat have to be glued.
Perhaps a concours judge could settle this as I don't want to drill holes in the floor pan in the wrong place or drill too many holes.
I would like to get back into concours, which is why I would like this to be correct.
Many thanks

Does your car not have holes in the floor where these were originally fitted? These pictures are taken of a 1963 car which still has all the original carpets and fixings. The rear floor carpets are each secured with 4 clips. The front ones are only secured with 2 - both on the outer edge. All 4 carpets can be lifted out without disturbing the front seats. The seats are bolted on top of an additional strip of carpet. As you say, most replacement carpet sets do not replicate this and are not suitable in terms of pattern OR material if you wish to exactly replicate the original.[frame]

This picture is the centre area, showing the 2 fixings for the front of the rear carpet and the rear fixing for the front carpet - as well as the strip of carpet beneath the seat itself. [frame]

And this last picture shows the rear carpet with 4 fixings.
Hope this answers your question. ALL these pictures are of the drivers side (RH side) of the car. [frame]
