I am changing my moggy over to negetive earth, Will the elctronic fuel pump be affected by this? I know other things will be affected but I am not sure about the fuel pump. Thanks sam.[/img]

We've certainly done the standard fuel pump to death, but I spotted the word "electronic" in the question. Generally electronic bits seem to be rather sensitive to polarity. I've seen these units advertsied, but never fitted one. Does anyone have any experience of the electronic pumps?

Hello Sam,
it seems you have three options, leave it as positive earth, buy a negative earth or standard pump or isolate the pump electrically from the car body (ideally contain it in a plastic box as the body of the pump will be live relative to the car body) and swop the connections.
Alec
P.S. it is worth a look inside the pump to see if an internal polarity change is easy. It will be obvious if it is.
