Does anyone know a supplier for the lower front suspension bump stops? Mine have parted company with the rubber pad.

I bought a reproduction one from one of the usual suppliers and found that the metal bracket is very flimsy. It is much thinner metal than the originals.

I would suggest sourcing good original equipment ones.

In my case, I found a suitable block of rubber to bond onto the original bracket.

I bought one of those repros a few years ago. It was absolute rubbish, flimsy and nowhere near the original shape. I cut the rubber off and glued it to the original as suggested above and binned the repro.

Just a suggestion 'trabant' - but why not look at the suppliers' websites first - before asking others on the forum to do it for you? ALL the usual suppliers will have that part (and virtually everything else you are likely to need) - but of course as suggested above - quality does vary -although most will get the parts from the same source anyway - wherever that may be !

I expect it is a penny pinching exercise, us minor owners are good at that apparently. It could be laziness but that and minor ownership don't usually go together.

I'm in the same boat and can't find them listed in the ESM Catalogue. Does anyone have the ESM Part Number ??

I have just replaced them on my dove grey car. Got them of esm. Had to be slightly bend into shape with the vice. But I knew the score as I've done it on my other minors. No problem with them apart from that. Even if they don't last long, they are wee buns to change.

Thanks for that. Was looking for "Lower Bump Stops" not "Lower Rebound Check Bracket" . The Upper ones are listed as "upper bump stops"............

That's because the upper ones are bump stops - they stop the movement when you go over a bump, whereas the lower ones are rebound checks as they check (or stop) the movement after the suspension rebounds towards its normal position following going over the aforementioned bump. It can be a bit confusing but most of the supplier sites have good pictures, and old fashioned but exceedingly useful paper copies of the parts catalogue are also available. Useful as a reference for how things go together too. I suppose that the difference between a bunp stop and a rebound check is a bit like the difference between a bolt and a machine screw - similar jobs but very specific in use, and nothing to get hung up about.

BMCECOSSE I had actually looked for the part on the ESM site and couldn't find it hence I asked this is after all a forum.and for the purpose of asking questions. Its people with your inability to just answer a question without coming over all god like that put new owners and me off joining clubs. While I acknowledge you may well know your stuff believe it or not other people do too.
Id suggest you find a suitable lever and a fulcrum and adjust your attitude.

And yes I was also searching under bump stop.

But the easy answer is to look at (say) the MOSS website with it's excellent exploded diagrams - no need to play 'guess the name of the part' - just look at the pictures ! Simples......
