Battery charger

Hi, I'm sure this topic has been broached before so apologies in advance. It's time to replace my ageing battery charger which has given sterling service since the mid seventies. I need it mainly to give the caravan leisure battery a boost but also for the daily Series 3 BMW should the need ever arise, as well of course the Morris Minor. I would prefer one capable of charging from flat rather than just to give a battery a "leg up".
What do folks recommend?
Many thanks.

I bought a ctek smart charger 10 yrs ago, been very pleased with it, couldn't tell you which model, and I'm sure there would be newer models out by now anyway. Basically I use it for keeping several car batteries charged during the winter etc. Simply connect each battery in turn for 2-3 days at a time. Most of these smart chargers have clever electronics that will help charge a sulphated battery and can extend the life of a battery through this process.
Of course you can leave this type of charger connected for weeks at a time which is handy if you have an alarm fitted or an electric clock. Only thing to say is that they charge at between 0.5 and 1.5 amps so don't use one if you are in a hurry to charge a flat battery, that's not what they are for and they will take 10-12 hrs to charge a completely flat battery.
