Does anybody know what size wheels a marina has as standard?

Hi Terry,

They are 13 inch diameter but I don't know how wide.
Definitely wider than the Minor though

Someone else on here will know for sure.

does anybody know what difference reducing the size of the wheels by 1" will have to the top end? I am lead to believe that the car has a marina engine, box and back axtle. I have no idea of what ratios it is running though

Depends on what width and profile tyres you plan on fitting to the 13" wheels.

If you let me know what you plan on doing then I can tell you what the differences from standard will be.

its not what i intend on doing its what has already been done and a top speed of 70mph I'll have a play on friday so i will know more then. (i have taken the day off to work on the car) The car was sold to me as having a marina engine, gearbox and rear axtle (along with decent brakes, hydraulic clutch and various other mods) but it doesnt want to do more than 70 and over 65 its realy unhappy. I'm sort of clutching at straws for an easy solution to get more top end as i want to use it as my daily car but i need it to cruse at 70/80 for that

Maybe worth double checking the diff ratio - I don't know, but I'm guessing there'd be a fair bit of interchangeability, and if you've ended up with one from a Marina van or something...

If it has a Marina axle then it will have Marina wheels - different pcd to Minor axle - unless the rear hubs have been changed of course ! Marina wheels look dreadful btw !! First step - what engine size is it ? Second step - get a compression test on the engine to see what kind of condition it is in ! If all that is ok - then it's just ignition timing/carb tuning - always possible someone has mis-timed the cam I suppose !!
Also - is the speedo reading correctly ? Follow some trucks going along at 56 mph to check. Are the brakes dragging/stuck on ?

it has a marina speedo fitted in the drivers side glove box (looks terible but is accurate i tested it against my focus) It has marina wheels. The car is this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MEWA:IT it isnt quite as pretty as it is shown in the pictures the woods good though. and it is now missing the spot that is above the drivers door and the sun strip as they blew off on the A54

Well if it has the full Marina drive train and wheels it should have similar performance, I have a Manual at home and will see what the spec is for you.
