fitting inicators

Hi i am trying to fit indicators all round on my morris minor she is a 1957 model that just has the trafficators but i cannot seem to get the newly fitted indicator light units to flash (they just come on but dont flash)i know the flasher unit is working ok as when i put it across the battery it it makes a ticking noise my car is also positive earth does this make a difference or is there a simple wiring diagram for this,

The wiring diagram on
http://seriesmm.mmoc.org.uk Technical Information, Trafficator and Indicator Wiring Diagram shows how to use both from the same switch. In addition you can buy flashing bulbs for the trafficators which make them more visible.

Pretty sure 'putting the flasher unit across the battery' won't have done it any good at all.....

It's supposed to have a 2 x 21watt load - limiting the current to ~ 3.5/4 amps.... Across the battery would be a dead short ...

hi mike i did a search in the seriesmm site but cannot fid the wiring diagram i searched for Trafficator and Indicator Wiring Diagram,

Hi have found the wiring diagram what would be the ideal 2 flasher units to purchase?
as oi see 2pin/3pin and different specs ?

parate - If they are to work with the old trafficators - then yes you need a flasher can in each side. If separate -then one can in the supply nto the switch will do. Remember you also need a warning light for flashers.
