These rods fit the Marina crank, do the barely visible numbers confirm they are indeed Marina items please?Image

Les
The Marina con rod is Part Number 12G1506.
The forging number is 12G1507.
The crank pin diameter is 1.7497" - 1.7504".
Length between centres 5.548" - 5.7.57".

As an aside all the 1275cc rods with 1.75" dia crankpins are interchangeable.
The rods in your photo above have been played around with and metal removed from the bearing cap and around the small end.
Here is a photo of a set of Marina pistons and standard rods as removed from a Marina engine.
Unfortunately they have been sold on so do not have them to hand.

Or could be from a Mini 1275 engine = matters not. Same rods and pistons.

The Mini 1275cc GT had two different crankshaft/rods fitted.

The 12H engine had 1.75" crankpin journals.

The 12G engine had 1.625" crankpin journals.

And 99% of Mini 1275 engines had the 1.75 rods - only the 'lucky' early GT had the better crank and rods.

Les
Have a look at the link below.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-Mini- ... SwG-1WyMHU

I have enlarged and rotated the photo to make it easier to read and the forging number on the rod in the link above is the same as displayed on the rods in your photo.
