afternoon all!

was just thinking - this year would be my car's 50th birthday, but was wondering if there's any way (online or here) that I could find out the 'birth' date of the car??

would it be through the chassis number?

I have a Certified Copy of Factory Record that I purchased (£50+vat and postage)from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust and this gives - Date of Build and Date of Dispatch. The V5 should give the date of first registration.

These should be close enough to determine the birth.

I concur with that - that is how I found out that my '51 Series MM left the Factory, to go to the dealer, the same day that I was born.
The actual "build date" was a few days earlier, so she may have sat outside for a bit.
There is a lesser charge if you request 1 piece of information and nothing in the form of a "certificate", but they will need to know chassis numbers, etc., to trace the info - see link below
