Glue sound deadening felt?

Post by Sweeny »

Hi all,

I recently fitted the sound deadening felt behind the dashboard to the underside of the bulkhead on my Morris Traveller. Previously the felt was held on with roughly 4 plastic clips, having refitted all the felt it seems a little... saggy, is there any need for carpet adhesive on this felt to the bulkhead or as your not going to see it are the clips enough to keep it up (not wanting to go back and adhere it at a later date with all the dials and glove boxes in place). If adhesive is recommended is there any particular I should go for/avoid?

Many thanks,

Tom :)

Use the push studs, they were metal originally and pretty effective. If you use glue it may get messy and end up over everything.

Thanks les, just wanted to check that there was no substantial gain to gluing the felt to the bulkhead.
Many thanks,
Tom
