As I've mentioned in another thread (in general) Ive got 6x14" superlites on the new Mog.

As its a cheesegrater grilled (mmm grilled cheese - lol) split screen I'd like to put more original looking wheels on.

I'm thinking along the lines of what they call in the Hot Rod world - "smoothies". Reason for this is I want to keep the additional width and not go back to the narrower standard rim.

Any idea's people? Namely where I can get them from or possible other options. All I realy want is a 6x14 standard looking wheel.

The 1st thing is to confirm what PCD the existing wheels are as you need this as a starting point, and if its the standard Minor 4" the nearest available are the reproduced 5 x 14`s that are about £60 each from MinorDevelopments who has them made specially, I dont know if he could get larger ones made.

what profile tires would you run on 5x14?

I'm out of touch with the Hot Rod universe - are 'smoothies' what used to be Moon discs?

Yeah I plan to whip one off (ooh errr....) tomorrow and measure up.

I'm pretyty sure the rear and and the front is from a Marina, so it'll be whatever that is I guess.

I'm further out of touch than I thought - putting 'Moon Discs' into Google only brings back pages on long case clocks...

The Minor Developments rims (and the Minor 8cwt Van rims) will run 175 tyres however due to clearance issues on the front suspension, 165 is the limit without using spacers.
The MD rims are slightly wider than the wide van rims so you may be able to go to 185's if you can get past the suspension problem).

The going rate for Van rims is about £25 £50 each depending on condition and whether they have useable tyres or not.

If they are the Marina PCD 3 3/4" I think, then the Minor Development ones will be no good to you.

Just checked - they are 4" PCD.

The tyres are 175/60R13's and on the front the actually come outside of the line of the arch by 1/2".

I think with a taller wheel and tyre this would be a problem, but in this small 13" it seems OK. Rears are fine.

I've left a message for the chaps at Minor Developments and hopefully they'll be able to help out.

They do but the car in question has a few modifications carried out.

Oh right then, a disc conversion would mean that one could use smaller rims

Not always the case its just that the poular one in the past was Marina Based and you could convert to Marina Rims at the same time if you wished, however most disc conversions are now Ford Sierra based, although you could use an MG Miget one with the corresponding 13" rims.
