my car has the standard hs2 carb fitter the breather goes to the front of the air filter and the fumes then go back in the engine and eventually make the air filter dirty . would i notice a difference with the carb with the breather in general running or do i just change the air filter every 6 months to keep it clean your opinions please .

It would be much better to have the breather carb. Saving on filters -and better fume extraction from the crankcase - which helps to stop any leaks and can reduce oil consumption.

Dale,
You can also use a carb spacer-something like this:

I don't know the size of the hole.

I think that's just for vacuum advance connection. The 'best' of course is to fit a PCV valve directly on the manifold (drilling and tapping required.....) and connect that to a breather to draw all nasty fumes directly into the cylinders.
