Hi. I have just taken the leaf springs off my van. What is the best way to clean and refurbish them .? Your comments will be appreciated

Re: Leaf springs
Strip the leaves apart and wire brush the leaves and re-assemble.
Do not lubricate the leaves if there is any wear on the underside of the spring leaf caused by the movement of the end of the leaf spring below.
If you do lubricate and have spring leaf wear there is a good chance that the spring leaf being more flexible after lubrication will hit the end of the wear groove and because it cannot go any further stop suddenly and break.
Only lubricate if absolutely no wear.
