If there was such a thing all other companies would be out of business! You'll get many opinions, and no definitive answer. You just need to check out several to get a feel for what's on offer and buy to suit your requirements and price. It's virtually like asking how long is a piece of string.

Totally depends on your circumstances, i.e. driving record, age, where you live etc.
MMOC members get a discount and can use Footman James quoting their membership number.
If you want to have an agreed value MMOC offer a valuing service. Make sure you get it in writing! You will need to contact MMOC HQ Derby for details of your nearest valuer.
Other firms RH, Peter James, Adrian Flux, Lancaster etc. Most offer breakdown service included in their price.
It's up to you.
