Front Screen Pillar Repair

Hi All
I have noticed that the inner screen pillar sections (between front of door and screen pillar) have rusted through in places. The outer pillar section seems okay. Has anyone had experience of repairing these, or is it possible to obtain repair panel sections?
Any info appreciated.
Regards
Kevin

Hi all
Regarding my screen/ roof inner pillar rust damage, I wondered if there are any professional restorers who have dealt with this issue before, or if you can get repair sections for this?
Thanks in advance for any help

Hi
The inner bits are relatively easy being just a 1mm folded angle..those outers look to be poor in a few places though and it may be you need to take up Roys offer. if you dont feel up to it a good welder should be able to effect a repair by cutting out and replacing any rotted sections.

My roof / screen section would be ideal for you! How on earth did it get so bad ?

Yes it does look like I need to take up your offer Roy!
I am not sure how it got quite this bad. Looks like it has been dragged out of the English Channel!
BMC / Leyland were not noted for rust protection. I have a Mk1 Mini and although this had the Rotodip cleaning and priming process at Longbridge there was very little treatment for long term protection, and in fact under the boot and door hinges it was bare metal.
I guess the Minor series was subject to the same inadequate process.
I will send you a PM and hopefully will be able to collect the section you have kindly offered.

Kevin
