Wipers

I would like to install a two speed wiper motor
would the one from the classic mini fit the wiper rack.
(the new wiring etc needed isn't a problem)

Probably! But it may not have the correct sweep angle....

the sweep angle problem could be fixed by using the gears of the old motor. Most new motors are delivered without gears.
A second problem could be to find a switch if you like to have a pull/push switch.
I´m thinking about the same problem in combination with an electrical washer pump

the electrical washer/wiper switch is simple,use a headlight/sidelight switch,one pull puts wipers on second one puts washer on.

yes that's what I was thinking too.

But doesn't he need four settings - off, speed 1, speed2 and washer?

The 2-spd Lucas 14W wiper motor uses a completely different park and 'push-pull' mechanism to the standard DR2 motor fitted to the Minor, and no parts are swappable.
The sweep angle is a combination of the pin offset in the motor and the wiper box arm length. I don't know what was fitted to the Classic Mini with 2-spd, but you would need to get both motor and wiper boxes to be reasonably sure that it might work.
A 2-spd wiper can be made to work with the original push-pull lighting switch, and needs 2 x 5-pin changeover relays to do it - that does not provide wash though. Maybe easier to have a separate washer switch?
The wiring diagram for the lighting switch and 2-spd wipers looks like this:

I THINK it may be possible to use the later, flick. switch to run a 2-spd wiper motor directly, ESM only show a switch, with no relays on their website? Has anyone tried?
Don't forget to make sure that the black 'earth' connection is grounded to the car body itself, and not just to the motor body!
