At last!

Post by SteveClem »

Today is a good day. My wife has sold her appalling Golf, with its razor sharp brakes, stop start thingy and stupid electronic handbrake. Never again will I have to move it to let the proper cars free. It was useful as a security device to block the drive though. :D

I'll probably end up with a Golf or Polo when driving gets too much of a chore. :D I've heard, whilst not necessarily value for money, one of the best cars on the road.

Well built and economic but so boring. And the overservo'd brakes took some getting used to. She did...l didn't. Oh and the rear view is poor, even with the wing mirrors. If you have arthritic knees you need someone to lift you out of the seats and you'll still bang your head on the steeply raked door jamb. I've got a permanent lump on my head. Has it's strong points but I hope I never have to get close to one again..ever...

My present 'modern' car stops the boredom at the moment, and will be a wrench to move on but as mentioned driving is getting less fun, and one day boring might suit me, along with automatic gearbox, good mpg and all those soft touches, and with these sort of cars you probably don't get attached, therefore can trade in every couple of years for a new one, instead of trying to keep them going. Hopefully electric will arrive properly one day! :D

I'm liking the little Jeep that she got to replace the awful Golf. Enough toys to entertain her and old school enough to appeal to me.
