Yes Graham, she's from 1961,when on the hunt to buy one it had to be a pre '63 1000,my personal favourite era moggie for all the features you list. She's my pride and joy and will certainly be used and meticulously maintained.Also yep,the national is an event I can't wait to go to and wouldn't miss it for the world!

The best kind in my opinion!Although I do get a lot of surprised faces when me being 23,gets out of a completely standard moggie with no intentions to modify

A couple of years into my total "as showroom" rebuild of my Trav (you can't really save a total wreck without going the whole hog) and I've started being so envious of interiors like yours - so much character, and so much nostalgia for us older chaps and chappesses. But what is a 23 year old doing in it - at least get it lowered and a big bore exhaust so we can tut-tut instead of being jealous!

A brave restoration I'm sure Mark! Yep its a lovely place to be,the car was restored by the previous owner,but the front seats were binned and a good used interior fitted so not to 'over-restore'.High praise indeed from a showroom fresh traveller owner! On the modifications,lowering,v8 engines,de bumpering etc have all been suggested by friends

Nice straight looking Minor, look after it! Not many like that now...

Being 18 I get teased by my friends at school, driving a scruffy rose taupe saloon. But they know how enthusiastic I am over it and they too have come to like it for what it is. I couldn't modify it, the Minor just sits right when standard. I love the materials, brass, Bakelite and steel coming together to offer a car with genuine quality.

Ha I can imagine the teasing!Like you my friends are slowly coming to my way of thinking! I'm glad to see another young owner not going down the modification route!Mines that original the head hasn't even been converted for unleaded fuel. That's one definite job for me this spring

I'm not an expert, but many on here don't think unleaded conversions are necessary. Apparently maintaining your exhaust valve clearances at 15 thou avoids any problems.

I'm sure I've also heard that before Mark, the thing tempting me to do it is a friend has a good 948 head that's been converted in his spares collection that I can have as long as I pay for his meal at the next meeting,so it will only really cost me the price of a gasket set...

I have the 2 door 1961 Yukon Grey but although she has trafficators, they are not yet wired in (they work) Seems like the 'limited edition' colour is quite popular on this forum.

Yours looks like a fantastic example and like you say these do seem like a more popular limited edition. Mine seems more unusual because being a late '61,it was one of the very first post trafficator model.Instead the side light flashes and at the rear the rear light also flashes,so when I brake the indicator is not even slightly visible!Imagine a car from the 21st century with this system...

As this seems to be growing into 'Show us your Yukon Grey '61', Here's mine. I started restoring it as a graduation present for my daughter, but she is urban based and has very limited use for a car so I kept it.[frame][/frame]

Was this the most popular colour choice of '61?!Another lovely looking example Ian!

Also it's great to know that they are deemed 'cool' to the,in my opinion,rather more clued up youth of today.

I have a 1957 4 door saloon and yes I just love the design features of that period mine is called Tilley I will try and upload a picture, she is currently in our local garage having bits and bobs done but I should be picking her up tomorrow. I have really missed her and can't wait to get her back and go for a drive in her. I talk to her you know and I pat her on the dashboard and tell her what a lovely old girl she is ha ha! mad isn't it!!
