Will not start - lumenition problem or coil with two 12v rea

Hi all

Please can you offer any advice - my traveller will not start - battery has been fully charged, changed ht leads, coil, distributor cap, rotor arm, good spray with WD 40 and plugs were replaced not long ago, car has fuel in it. Each item replaced one at a time to try and isolate problem. Ignition lights come on at first key turn.

The two spade connectors to the coil are fine - but both +ve and -ve give a 12v reading - is this correct? If not, what could be causing it - no one has touched it since it was driven a couple of weeks ago?

The car was restored some time ago by Charles Ware and we have found a lumenition magnetronic device when replacing the rotor arm - could this have failed - how could we check?

When removing a spark plug and placing on engine there is no spark

Car was moved to make way for some building work and has been parked on grass for a couple of weeks and is in an awkward position to tow out

I'm not mechanically/technically minded so above information is from memory when a friend looked at the car yesterday - what are we missing? Any advice what to check next?

Thanks in advance - sorry for all the questions! Would a pic of the engine bay help to see what modifications were added by C Ware?

The coil readings are right enough - indicating no current is flowing - but then it won't until the electronics are rotated..to make a spark. Is there any fuel getting to the carb? Try an eggcup down the carb throat and crank it. I know you say there is no spark - but sometimes hard to see. May as well check for fuel. This is where I advise to fit the spare dizzy...but I'm guessing you don't have one. Is the main HT lead from coil to dizzy cap good and secure - and is the little carbon 'brush' present and correct (and springy) in the dizzy cap?

Will have to try the fuel down the carb - main HT lead checked and two brand new distributor caps tried...
