Thinking of buying a strobe timing light and came across this from Accuspark.

It looks OK but it's pretty cheap compared to the likes of Sealey, etc, so I wonder if it's any good?

Does anyone have one of these, or a similar one, who could tell me if they're accurate and will last? Or have recommendations for another make and model?

There's no point.... the original timing suggestions are not relevant today because of changes in the fuel . Just set the timing 'by ear' to give the best idling - in combination with idle mixture adjustments. And then double check with a roadtest to make sure the engine is not pinking. The best setting is where the engine is 'not quite' pinking. It's always worth testing the vacuum advance to make sure it's working. They usually only last about 20 years and will badly affect the idling and running if failed. I've had a strobe for 40+ years and never used it yet.....
