Fast forward to yesterday & some new carpet under felt to fit - seats out & "Eureka!" - it's a bag of spare seat strap clips!
Seems blindingly obvious now..!

When I bought my Traveller there was a small bag of metal parts in the back, under the loadspace.
I could not for the life of me figure out what they are.
