Got a second hand Sierra 5 spd kit to fit (one day) but that looks like it would have previously been hydraulic as there are a master and slave with it. Would be interested to know what the best fitment is....

The better and easier way for clutch operation when using a type 9 gearbox is to use the MG Midget Hydraulic system or Minor mechanical system in conjunction with the clutch operation conversion kit.
The type 9 Ford gearbox bell housing with cable clutch operation is a very much larger and heavier item than the conversion bell housing. I believe that using the Ford clutch release cable system on a Minor has been done but only when using a Ford gearbox mated to a Ford engine and then using the Ford bell housing.
