Hi Guys,

I have a Morris Minor fitted with a Marina 1300 Engine.

I have been told the distributor fitted is a 25D.

This distributor has no vacuum advance fitted and looks more like a 45D.

My engine number is 12VE-H102604.

Can anyone identify the distributor?

Thanks Ian[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

It's not a 25D - may be a Ducellier dizzy. It seems to be held in with the normal clamp system - so a 45D with vacuum advance will be an ideal upgrade. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/45D-ELECTRONI ... SwgQ9Vx3KQ

Thanks for your reply BMC

I have been told from the Marina forum that it is a 43D.

They also agree with you on the upgrade.

Would it be beneficial to upgrade to a vacuum 45D?

Is it easy to do?

What is the best 45D to buy, there are quite a few different manufacturers for sale on ebay.

All the best,

Ian

Oops sorry BMC.

Just visited your shortcut to ebay.

Thanks for that.

Yes - go vacuum - especially as I see you fitted an LCB, so you want to optimise the ignition timing. It's also an economy device. The Powerspark/Accuspark dizzies probably come from the same source - probably in India. And seem to get good reviews.
