Van cab

Post by Propshaft »

I have just fitted new cills floors new b posts ( used) inner wings everything is now fixed it welded in place I have self tapped screwed the cab repaire panel lower Rpv 116 in position and measured the height up to the screw holes in the cargo back and it seems to be about 6 mm low all the doors fit nice with the cills is there a seal that needs to go between the panel and floor this would lift it a couple of mil. Would I be able to make up the other 4 mil. With juggling the cargo back . Also the bottom corners of the panel are cut square and were they mate up to the ends of the cills they are angled . Your comments would be appreciated

Not sure if I've read your problem correctly but there should be a packing piece fitted on top of each side of the chassis where the rear of the cab is eventually bolted, this raises the cab by about 5 mm.

The packing pieces are about 5mm, I made mine which were 6mm thick. I think you will find there is no gasket, just a film of mastic or similar stuff that the wings are bedded in with.
