Series II pickup colours

Morning all,
Does anyone know what the most likely colour for a 'light grey' cheese grater grilled pick up would be? I've got a feeling platinum grey may have been used. Research so far has indicated that although the colour discontinued for saloons in the very early 50s it was still used on commercials up until 54. There is also the possibility of Clarendon, but I'd have thought that to be a dark grey. Has anyone owed/ seen original light grey early pickups that may be able to shed some light?

I agree that Platinum Grey might have been used on Commercials later than the cars. Have you also considered Birch Grey as a possibility? Do you have any trace of original paint left on the vehicle?

We had thought as Birch Grey as a possibility as it was used in 54, but as of yet the sources I have haven't stated that it was used on commercials - not to say it wasn't though.
Unfortunately there is none of the original paint left on the pickup :( or the original seats, which I'm assuming would have been brown and now on the hunt for some 8)

I have an original BMC paint book which list all the BMC colours AND what models they were used on. It states that Birch Grey was used on 1/4ton van and pick-up but unfortunately doesn't state whether Series11 or 1000.

Ahh, so could very well have been used on the series II pickup then. Many thanks for the additional info.
