Ooh my god, this is a nightmare, trying to undo everyone elses bad repairs, slows you down, doesn't it!! ;-)
Right,im just at the outersill/floor pans stage of my restoration and im having a problem with the floor edge under repair panel. This is the under panel that joins from half way along the outersill towards the front of the rear spring hanger.
Alls well from the front end but towards the rear this panel stays pretty level but at the rear the panel is about an inch from where it welds onto the bottom of the rear inner arch!!The inner edge of the panel is fine and runs beside the spring hanger mount neatly, its the outer edge and rear of the panel which is way off.Do these panels sometimes need cut/bent near the back or is my rear inner arch ending to high up?Its a traveller by the way, really enjoying the resto, well enjoy maybe a bit too strong,it's eh?Interesting!
Can't wait to get the whole new floor in,just about there!
Its the top panels in this auction pic im talking about.

The rear under edge panels are normally supplied around 1" too short...something to do with leaving a gap for the cross member I presume !?! so normally a strip has to be made up and welded in at the cross member position. The pressings are also often bent/badly formed along the rear channel edge where it spot welds to the boxing extension panel. So a bit of hammering will usually be necessary.
