On the Austin badged pick-up or vans has anyone come across the rear rubber buffer blocks with the letter A on them shown in the picture.
The rubber buffers fitted to this early 71 pick-up were on it when it was rescued for preservation from it's last working owners which leads me to think they are original.

Might be wrong, but they look like they have been carefully cut with a commercial tyre recutting machine!

That was my first thought when I first saw them, they look a very neat even job if they have, it would need a very good hand to cut then so even.
They were on the pick-up when it was rescued.

I don't think there was ever an A on the rubbers, also the Usual M is not cut in but raised. Whoever did this added a nice touch though, possible more authentic if it was not a rounded A.

I paired the M off of mine, might have go at carving an A!

Never seen any like that before. Someone told me once that on the Austins the rubber blocks were just mounted upsidedown so it didn't read as an M but never really seen proof of that myself...
