Minor to Mongolia

Greetings all !
So we have decided to drive to Mongolia (yes I know its already been done) and have purchased a 1969 two door with a 1.3 A+ engine in ruddy good condition.
We are not going to be part of the infamous Mongol Rally as we do not share their values nor do we wish to be caught up in their madness.
I`m Rory,Irish living in Bath and run a chimney sweeping business, my pal Paul is a agricultural engineer and it was his stupid idea to do the trip in a moggy so is there any other equally daft moggy owners who would like to join the fun (bring your own moggy at least a 1098 in fine fettle) ?
We shall be raising the suspension, fitting a sump guard, modifying the exhaust, fitting Rostyles and various other enhancements to increase our odds of bringing our Moggy home.(did I mention Pauls an engineer?)
My role is procurement,paperwork,visas,route planning and am currently doing a crash course in Russian.
We will be leaving the first week of June, which is a good six weeks before The Mongol Rally, we fully intend on completing our trip in hopefully 8 weeks taking the southern route through Turkey/Georgia/Azerbajain/The Stans returning through Russia via Moscow following the Trans Siberian rail route.
It would be a lot more fun with two moggys and a great advantage to have a tow vehicle on hand !
