Hi
I've found a original packed "Gold Seal Engine" to buy - packed in the 80th and never used. What do you think would be a fair price for this engine?
Sellers Description:
"From stock from 1980 1 x offers factory replacement engine, conserved Top oil (Obenoel) ... Gold Seal is included water pump, oil pump and control chain"
Thats all I know

By the look of the crankshaft and the labelling it is for a Mini, not a Minor? Can you check?

Richard
It appears to have a Minor front engine plate but without removing the packaging a Mini rear crankshaft stub.

What sort of sump does it have? A Minor would have its normal steel pressed sump, but what would a Mini exchange engine have?

The Morris 1100 transverse engine had a similar front plate (for an additional mounting) and the mini type crankshaft didn't it.
The transverse engines were supplied without any sump.

It IS a Morris 1100 transverse engine - worth a good £500 (maybe more) but no use on a Minor!.

Good morning
here is the answer I've got 5 mins ago:
"This series of factory replacement engines has no 38 G 502 ERR So ..... 1100 cc traverse Engine for Mini"
So - nothing for my Minor - thanks for answers!

It is not all doom and gloom.
Everything except the block (which can be made to fit with a bit of work) and the crankshaft is suitable for use on or in a 1098cc Minor engine.
If the price is right it may be worth purchasing stripping out the block and crankshaft and selling them on.

Hello Phil,
the price is £ 730 - not so cheap to do all the work with it. Plus £ 95 shipping costs in Germany ...
it's nothing for me
Bye
