Hi All

I have a 1965 convertible, which came with a lot of bits missing, seals, grommets, gearbox cover screws,basically anything which was not obvious. It also came without a parcel shelf. I have acquired one but cannot work out how it fits. It seems about 3/4" short. Here are some pics. I am wondering if there are some small brackets missing.[frame][/frame]

Perhaps you have the shelf support for the earlier car? These are shorter because the shelf was fitted further forward in the car.
There are some small spacers used as well but they won't add up to anything like 3/4" inch.

The shelf I bought was attached to this tray. I had assumed it was for the later type. I have been trrawling the previous posts and think I like the idea of a plastic angle supported by a wooden strip. I can maybe sell the angle iron to someone with steel shins.[frame][/frame]

Yesterday I mounted mine, the mounting in my 1951 car is different, but the iron is the same as on the first picture.

There are two parcel shelves, the early short one fits in front of the steering column. the bar is exposed and fits to brackets behind the triangular panels on either side.
The later, deeper shelf has a padded bar which fits behind the steering column and bolts into the A post on either side
