Identifying correctly the car you want to Buy

I am looking at a MM Pick Up on Ebay Ref 121745278796

Using The Potteries Branch "Identifying your car" the chassis number is showing the pick up as a van. The seller advises the V5 clearly states a V in the chassis reference and also states it is a pick up and originally Trafalgar Blue. Year of registration is J 1970/71.

Before making a long journey to view-where else can I check to establish what is correct.

Any guidance appreciated.

Thank you.

There are not many differences between a van and a pick-up - are they not both down as LCVs ? (As In from memory no structural differences on the chassis ) With the PickUp cab rear fitted along with side panels and tailgate it can be a way of changing the full van sides and roof with problem guttering for example.

Many thanks

On a separate point, is there much demand for a good restoration pick up?

Quite possibly but if you're thinking of restoring one to then sell, you wouldn't get your outlay back, that's assuming you restored it properly, and if you didn't you wouldn't get a good price!

And a 1970 vehicle is certainly not an 'MM'.... Did they even make MM Pick-ups??
