This is a problem that isn't a problem yet. Gladys 3 my 1954 series 2 has never yet in her 61 years had or needed any welding underneath or in fact anywhere and still has lovely factory applied grey paint in her wheel arches I will be respraying these this week to give them a freshen up and wondered what in peoples opinion the bed clear rust prevention is to go over the paint with ??[frame][/frame]

Apply seam sealer to the seams/ joints, apply smooth coats of stone chip, prime and paint the grey over this. Cavity wax inside all box sections as Minors rust from the inside out.

I've about a ton of wax left over from.my.lanchester so that's that covered can I just say I've purposely stayed away from stonechip as it tends to let water creep behind it . However if has just occurred that a mate of mine uses Raptor (upol) which is a tintable pick up truck liner and that's managed to stop a Lancia delta from disolving.

If the car will be used in the wet in Britian and in the winter, then water and salt will creep behind any protection. That is when you need to apply underbody wax each year such as Dinitrol 4951.

But this is getting away from the original posters question who wants to protect their car and yet have a shiny grey underside. Fine if the car is mostly used in the dry.
