Horn and indicators stopped working

Hi folks

Traveller '67.

Recently my indicator stopped working in one direction, then after both stopped working and also the horn. I'm not sure why?

My interior light is working, and as far as a know bulbs are ok. From what i've read would i be correct in saying that both are connected?

I've checked the two 35 amp fuses, fine, the 10 amp inline fuse is also fine.

Here is a photo of what wires are there... any help or pointers would be great as it's not so easy out on the road as turning left is difficult without signal!

From the steering column i can see there is a green/white wire, a green/red wire and a black wire, but i can't see them emerging on the other side of the bulk head?

as an aside.. i'm not sure what the green/red wire hanging down is for, possibly something to do with a radio that is no longer present, it certainly doesn't make the horn work!

The faults you list are not connected - so each one will just need to be tracked down and rectified. Print off a copy of Barry's excellent wiring diagram at the head of this section, and work your way through it.

That's the one... Nice and simple to follow with all the colours shown.

Handy diagram!

I now understand the electrical layout way more! Actually pretty simple. And good news.. traced the horn to a broken wire right down beside the horn itself, nicely hidden by the cold air feed pipe!

Any can you believe it..after getting told by the father inlaw that the bulbs were fine, it turns out that the front drivers side wasn't leading to the initial problem.

The fact of both indicators not working was down to a bit of a dodgy connection on the 35 amp fuse. I managed to also get the ignition light back on along with the fuel gauge too. They had been off/not working on the last run i did!

So all in all a very well spent 35 mins in the man cave!! :D

I sometimes wonder if less than 10% of Minor Owners actually have a Workshop Manual....
It's even available to download for free if you search AKD530.... :-?

Incidentally, the Diagram that has been posted above by mobylette is for 1961-63 cars (as they left the factory) so will confuse the hell out of anyone who has regular Indicators..... It's for the Flashing Brake Light system that came between Trafficators and Indicators...
That statement alone will confuse a great many....

Thanks just right for my 62 and good in colour, easier then looking up or trying to remember the wiring codes on the back and white diagram in workshop manual :tu1:
