My moggie has this weird lead that runs from the distributor to the carb and I really don't know what it is
I need to get a new one because it's broken but cannot find anything to tell me what it's about

It's probably not a "lead" but a plastic vacuum pipe to operate the advance/retard mechanism. Just to be sure, can you post a picture.
