They need to be installed with the vertical plate toward the front of the car.

Hello the engine /gearbox is resting in position, with the front engine mounting plates having the vertical upright to the front,so bending down in front of the engine ,you can see the large single nut holding the rubber mounting. However what made me have doubts,is that the hole on the gearbox for the pedal shaft is not in line with the hole on the chassis for the other end.So if I fit the shaft in it is at an angle, which I don`t seem to remember it being.I am trying to give a link to photos ,if I can I will post the link

Hi Len,
Looking at your photo's in your link I'd say you need to swap them round.
As Panky's photo's show, your engine mounting blocks should sit square on to the mounts, yours look distorted by comparison.
Best wishes,
Mike.

I now see what you mean, but someone on this topic said the vertical section, should be to the front which they are.The fact I have then the wrong way round makes sense .The shaft would be straight ,if I reversed them as the blocks do look distorted. Thanks again, once more showing the use of a club.Len

When I said the vertical plate I meant the plate with the hole in, as in jagnuts picture, not the vertical edge of the side plate. Sorry if I confused you.
