Hi all,
948cc engine - Long or short vented oil filler cap?
1953 Series II radiator - Long or short filler cap and which pressure is suitable?
Also did all original radiators carry a brass manufacturers plate with serial number? Just found one on the top tank of a rad I am restoring to fit in Jethro.
Many thanks! :D

948 oil cap should be the metal type. Not the plastic 1098 type. The 53 radiator should be the tall/high top type, are the caps not all the same.

I've seen long reach and short reach rad caps with 4lb 7lb and 13lb relief pressures so wasn't sure which would be appropriate to the series II rad. :-?

4 lb, Series MM rads have brass Morris Radiators plate, can't recall seeing a plate on a 1098 rad. Will check in the morning

My 1098 rad just has a small Serck Services brass plate on the back of the header tank. Don't know if it is original or fitted if or when the rad was serviced

The one on my rad says Morris Radiator Division and the gent who is resurrecting it for me in Colchester says it is an original High top Series II.
It is going to have a new core fitted and a new paint job and I will be collecting it in a weeks time so I will post a before and after picture next week. :D
