Congratulations.
I've often wondered what made you choose 'POMMREG'?? Are you Australian?
In which case we're all POMMS over here!
Best wishes,
Mike.

Thanks for sharing the date and place Andy, was wondering if it would be any nearer home next year.

(psst. Mike, POMM Reg = 'Post Office Morris Minor Register' and as far as I know he is British! But Chris (POMM Reg) has a great sense of humour so will enjoy your post I'm sure!)

Does anyone know what facilities will be availble for camping at this years rally. i.e. showers, toilets etc
If anyone has any info on facilities it would help in deciding if we camp or not.

Also see that there is a Sausage & Cider Festival on the Fri 1st Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd July with camping at Catton.

Assume this will be on different part of the site!!

Cover ALL Minor commercials nowadays, POMMReg started when I concentrated solely on GPO/PO vans.

As much as we'd love to go the the 40th Anniversary National we will be unable to go as usual as its not in the school holidays! :( Both the Morris Register and the Austin Ten Drivers Club always hold their National Rally in the school holidays to allow members with young families to attend for the whole weekend. This is especially important if, like us (and I'm sure many others) you have to drive a long distance to get to the National - nearly 200 miles this year.
When will the organisers learn that we need to encourage young people and families to come to these things if the club is going to survive for another 40 years!

It's an interesting argument and has been debated extensively. The majority view is that school holidays are NOT a good time for a Minor National as families are often away on "proper" holidays, and attendance would drop. More people prefer to travel up for a weekend and then have their one or two week holidays in the summer break. It's never going to be possible to please all of the people all of the time, so apologies to anyone who wants a rally in late July or August, but we have to run with what seems to work for most people - and there are usually plenty of families in attendance.
