The one thing i was worried about with this car when i bought it was the filler at the bottom of the rear,right hand post,eek!
Finally got around to poking around there and its just as bad as thought it would be!!The bottom 4 inches just disintegrated and came off?
So,inspecting adjoining rails im going to do what generally isn't recommended,im going to replace just that post as i love a challenge.
The tenon joins attaching the rails,once all brackets,screws are cut off/unscrewed, are these tenon joins easy enough to force out with a mallet?Or are they glued in?
Once i get around to this mammoth task i'll post back with my experiences as im sure this is a fairly common problem,and a dilemma to do it all the right away at great expense replacing a whole side,or replacing individual pieces.

I can wait to give it a go.Way im thinking is where the dampness is 'should' make it easier to come off!! ;-),then refitting i'll make the most of the natural joints that are there and use more additional brackets (hidden ofcourse) or make little additional dowels to aid joints if i have to.Im just thinking its only wood!Its only wood!

Strongly recommend you read Steve Foreman's section on partial wood replacement in Ray Newell's Morris Traveller book. Rather expensive, but absolutely invaluable advice from Steve, who is the owner of Woodies, the specialist in Traveller wood. Do be prepared for nasty surprises in the boot floor and wheel arch metalwork when you remove the post.

I went against advice and replaced 2 of the 3 wheel arch sections. Steve Foreman's advice in the Ray Newell book was excellent, gave me confidence to have a go and I am really pleased with the result. Good luck!

Buffed back some of the 'painted' woodwork on the traveller,not too chuffed with what i saw!I've decided to go for two new complete sides.I've seen complete sides and unassembled side kits but nothing about postage?Wont be cheap i expect?Anyone had larger parts delivered from one of the main wood suppliers?Thanks.
