Charging circuit

Hi , how can I tell if the battery is charging properly . The lucas box on the bulkhead which opens and closes , how can I tell if that's working properly .thanks

Red light going out when you rev up? Voltmeter is the answer - should rise to 13.8 volts at decent revs. But if the red light doesn't go out - it's not charging... I do have spare Dynamo and Regulator (both Lucar connectors) not a million miles from you....

thanks Roy , ive not explained it properly . I know its charging but think its over charging . The lights go really bright in the dark when I rev it . But the battery is going warm and im thinking its overcharging , its that I need to check

So, check the volts are not going over 13.8 ...
