Also on page 79 of Ray Newell's book 'Original Morris Minor'. I saw the car in the flesh a few years ago. Do you know much about its history?

Oh wow, that's so great that she made the cut into Rays book! As for her history, my brother bought her from a salvage yard, about ten years ago, in a good condition. she had been in the floods and had been written off by the insurance company. she needed some work on the engine, especially the clutch, but nothing serous. she was his girlfriend's car, used every day. when they split, she couldn't look after the car herself do I bought her (the car) and my brother now looks after her for me. She has had the usual welding underneath, nothing too serious. I love the way she has aged naturally, she is very very original, and she has now done 89k miles. She is safe in my garage, no more skid pans for Moggie, I can't help but smile all the way when I drive her.

The interior pictures on page 63 are of the same car.

Great to hear that somebody rescued it after it was written off. It has had a lucky escape! Prior to becoming a victim of flooding in 2007 when floodwater covered it upto window height, the car had already fallen into disuse as the cost of MOT repairs (welding & brakes I think) were considered too expensive. The car was not in running order although it still looked quite smart on top. It had been used in many films and TV dramas etc during its long career.

Very few "A" registrations were actually issued in 1963 as many County Councils continued to issue the old "non suffix" plates. I believe that this car had been issued with this registration from new.
