Morning all,

I have fixed two second hand Lucas spotlights to the bumper of my 2dr moggy. The question I have is purely cosmetic; one has a small green plastic cap on top with a lion on it, the other is missing it. Done a quick google search and not turned up anything. Ideally I'd like a replacement as it really bugs me. Otherwise I'd consider buying a pair and changing both. Anyone know where I might find some? The bulb has also gone in one, notice its a sealed unit. Any place in particular I should look to buy a new one?

(I'll be posting updates and pics of the whole car soon as I intend to get stuck into doing my own work on her in preference to using my mechanic all the time).

While I'm at it, could anyone recommend somewhere to start on all things electrical. My knowledge of basic circuitry has been found wanting.

If they are the Lucas Silver Sabre type they are available as a matching pair of fog and spot lamps, also some have a red Lucas badge on the top and some have a green badge. The red which I have are sealed beam, the less common green ones may be halogen

Why the tacky lights - are you going Rallying?? Doubt you will get a sealed beam nowadays....

If he wants "tacky"lights its up to him.Your reply wasn't an answer to his question.

Thanks for the replies. Think I may have purchased these in error, looks as though I may have to find another pair sometime in the future if I wish to remedy this.
I appreciate the challenge, but in my eyes they aren't tacky. I purposely went for a pair of original lights and I do find that when driving down lanes they light up the road far better which is when I tend to use them.
I believe I have read somewhere that the original headlight bulbs themselves can be changed to provide whiter light? This could lead me onto a 2nd question, I find when the car runs idle with headlights, wipers and radio switched on the headlights dim, apply pressure to the accelerator and they brighten. Assume this is a drain on battery? This is quite separate to the spots, they aren't on when this occurs.

Perfectly normal with a worn battery, the dynamo is not charging at tickover.
Spot lights must be set so that they do not dazzle oncoming traffic or wired through the dip switch

Apparently the battery I have is new, and I have an alternator fitted. Should have mentioned that! Would having all electrical items on at the same time be too much of a drain for a typical battery?
