Insurance small print

Hi All
Got my renewal from L.V.
Closely reading the small print regarding theft cover, quote:-
Theft is only covered when in locked garage.

I phoned and asked if this is in the "off road" section so what does it actually mean?
To my horror, after being left on hold for a while, I was told that when out and about day or night there if no theft cover?

I have just reinsured with Footman James and the only previso is to garage it over night when at home elsewhere theft is covered.

I'm good as a rule at picking out crappy clauses but missed this one..
Yet another lesson learned.

LV= used to be very good when it was Frizzells (multiple car policies with NCD being earned on all the cars on the policy) - the take-over has just made them into another batch of the usual leeches.
They wanted to know why my 3 classics weren't insured by them as "we insure classics", but I pointed out that they don't do "agreed valuations" - so scrap value as far as they are concerned.
My first "classic" policy was with Lancaster, but I have moved to FJ, now that I have three of these beauties.
Every-day replacement car is still insured with LV=, but, even though they wrote of my accident damaged car (they paid out on it), they still charged me an Admin Fee for the replacement car!
Maybe I should challenge this as it wasn't by choice that I had to change the car?
Maybe I should add this to the "expenses" that their Solicitors are trying to recover?
