Hi,

I start to restore my brakes on Minor 1000.

I almost ready to make an order for every parts I need but it still have interogation..?

Pictures show my trouble...I need to replace or it's upgrated for old brake shoe with rivet??
This is a possible explanation but I'd like your opinion.
Both bands machined served when riveted brake jaws?

Any idea?

The machining marks (sic) are not machining marks but indicate that the brake shoes are worn out (or have been in the past) and the rivets holding the brake linings to the shoes have worn into the drum.
New drums and shoes I am afraid.
Personally I would not replace just the one drum but both drums. If only one drum is replaced you could find that the brakes pull to one side and/or that the brake lining to brake drum efficiency is different between new and old drums causing it to pull or produce an unbalanced brake load.

Thank for your fastest answer
same if it's not good for me!

I just hope it's machining but I already sure it's not.

Sorry for my English....

A new drum will have no grooves in it just a flat surface for the brake shoes to rub against.
I would suggest that the grooves are too severe to machine out of the drum as the max working diameter of the drum may or in all probability be exceeded.
The link shows what a new or serviceable Minor brake drum should look like:-

So well machined by rivet that I wondered if it was made by turning machine!
