We are currently in the process of swapping my 1098cc for a 1275 a plus and have come across the problem that the throttle and choke cables are to short. Has anybody come across this as it appears that we need longer cables and the throttle one needs a plastic grommet on it to fit on to the bracket of a hif 44 carb. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just buy longer cables from any Autoparts shop.... And a spare throttle cable for the glovebox....

Re: Throttle/ Choke cable 1275 a plus swap.
I put a new choke cable, from ESM, into mine. It was longer than the original and fitted nicely. Check with them for length. The throttle cable was a brake cable from a bike shop cut to length. The grommet came from my container of useful bits.

I've used bike cables too and anything lying around to sort cables and modify linkages as it's what you have to do on engine swaps. Don't take this the wrong way please but if you're able to change engines over why are small cables you can source from any motor shop of the shelf a problem ?
Good luck with the swap it'll be worth it.
