I suspect that the copy writer might not have been as innocent as we sometimes think

Hilarious, but I think it's probably a spoof advert. I thought that WD-40 came out in the 1950's and that they put a dash or a star between the 'D' and the '4'. I quite fancy a copy to put on the garage wall though!

It could be genuine, WD40 as you say was first invented in 1953 but was not comercially avaliable until 1958 but was only sold by a small hand full of people in America and it was not untill 1961 that they had an order big enough to fill a lorry. So it may well have been 1964 when it first came to the UK.

I doubt very much if it's genuine as there's just too much and nearly every line, ie ''complete with red knob'' :o !!!!!!!

I must admit though it too think it would look great on the garage wall
