headlights
Just a quick question about headlights. I took mine apart to fit a new seal and as i haven't had the car long I keep finding past bodge jobs and the headlight is no exception!! They are plastic bowls and holders and half of the tabs for the screws to go in are snapped off and new holes have been drilled into the body. It doesn't bother me at the moment as it's light so we won't be driving at night because I'm guessing there not set up properly either. I have been looking at getting halogen kit and was wondering if there was one available with new bowls gaskets ect save me missing something i need as its my fist moggy and what does "pilot light" and "no pilot light" when buying headlights??

Re: headlights
No experience of halogen kits but I can answer about pilot lights.
Some headlights have a small round hole in the reflector behind which is fitted a small side light bulb so that your headlights double as a side light as well, hence pilot lights.

Re: headlights
I got a set of halogens off eBay, round fronted lens that looks very similar to the original Lucas sealed beam units, originally for a Mini but fit straight on to the Minor. There was a 'Pilot Lamp' fitted as the Mini has integral side lights but theses are easily removed and the hole covered with apiece of tape - unless you want to wire them up as side lights of course. For a shade under £30 it was a bargain. No gaskets with the kit I'm afraid
