Hello you all,
does anybody know what seats are suitable for a Morris Traveller?
My girl friend really like head rests......
I know the Newton Commercial seats, but they are quite expensive.
And I heard about seats from
Mazda 121 or MX5, Ford Fiesta and KA, Saab 900, Rover 75
or Alfa Romeo seats !!!!
Is this all right???
I want the seats to fit into a classic car, not too modern!
Unfortunately I need a dark red interior for a black Traveller.
Any advices???
Thank you for helping me.
Cheers from Germany
Guido

Re: modern seats
Well,I went for the Charles Ware 'Series 3' seats, which may ( or may not!) be the same as the Newton Commercial seats. Option of leather or vinyl in the traditional colours. Cherokee Red looks good in a maroon or black car. I'm well impressed by the comfort and durability. Looks like the seats will last longer than me!

Re: modern seats
I remember those 1970s detachable head rests that slid over the top of any seat, my mate had some in his ford corsair.
Classic tat.
Get her one of those.

Re: modern seats
I have seats from a Mk1 Ford Fiesta. The fabric is not beautiful but I really like the shape. They're comfortable, heigh adjustable driver's seat, built in seat belt points which I wanted.
Seats were £25 each, for all my skills I am not a fabricator/welder so I got both seats fitted for £200 locally.
I've had quotes of around £500 to have them both retrimmed in a suitable vinyl to match my interior. In all, a saving of ~£250 over the newtown commercials option.
Just check the width of the seats, the morris wells are on the narrow side for modern seats.
It will be MUCH easier if the seats come with two floor rails, rather than some modern cars which have a rail on the sill and on the floor.
Make of all these facts what you will! I'm very happy! Happy to send photos if you'd like.
